ABOUT CHEF FABULA
Chef Ralph Fabula grew up in Orange County, where
his interest in food was evident at an early age. Influenced by
his European heritage, Ralph would often help in the preparation
of family meals, from homemade gnocchi to pork chops breaded from
scratch. Over time, Ralph’s passion for cooking would grow
and, in the ensuing years, he would travel extensively throughout
California, Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest, holding various high-level
Chef positions, and incorporating his love of new and exotic flavors
with the benefits of local seasonal product.
In one of his first employed positions, Ralph worked his way up
to Assistant Chef at a small Italian bistro in Anaheim Hills, California,
where he learned how a professional kitchen is successfully managed.
Ralph then made his first move to the Central Coast, where he attended
business classes at Cuesta College and earned his Certification
in Food and Beverage Management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
In 1993 Ralph married and moved with his wife to La Jolla, California,
where he took a position as Executive Sous Chef at Sfuzzi, an Italian
bistro in the Hyatt Aventine. Four years later, the couple relocated
to the Bay Area, where Ralph teamed up with the renown Chef
Bradley Ogden of the Lark Creek Restaurant Group.
Now an experience Chef, Ralph returned to the Central Coast and
secured a position as Executive Chef of the Gardens of Avila Restaurant
at Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort. In the interest of furthering
his experience in Asian-French cuisine, he then transitioned to
working with Budi Kazali at the four-star Ballard
Inn.
Chef Fabula now channels his years of culinary expertise into the
development and success of Fabulas Catering as
the ultimate vehicle for expressing his passion. Through Fabulas
Catering’s innovative offerings, Chef Fabula looks forward
to providing residents of the Central Coast with a taste of all
he has lived and learned and an opportunity to experience his unique
creations in “American Fare with International Flair.”
